Since the publication of this manuscript, Dr. Koziol has co-authored a combination of ten book chapters by invitation as well as peer reviewed journal publications (see his CV for a complete list of publications) . While he teaches and supervises students at the graduate and post-graduate levels, he has achieved the highly unusual and respected "three-peat" accomplishment of publishing three specialty topic papers within the same specialty journal within a 12-month period of time. Two of these papers have been among the top 5% most downloaded papers, which is "unique in the history of the journal," according to Mario Manto, editor-in-chief of The Cerebellum.
His first paper covered the topic of the neuroanatomy of expertise and giftedness; his second paper explained the neuroanatomy of sensory integration and sensory processing disorders (read brief review of this article); his third paper, just released in November of 2011, explains the neuroanatomic relationship between movement and thought. These papers address important issues and topics in pediatric neuropsychological development. (check Publications on the right to download these papers).
In addition to
his private practice, publication, and educational
responsibilities and endeavors, he has been appointed
by the journal, The Cerebellum, to edit an international consensus paper on the role of the cerebellum in movement
and cognition. He has also been appointed to the
committee for Emperically Defined Disorders of Attention (EDDA), which is sponsored by the American College of Pediatric Neuropsychology. He is chair person for the EDDA subcommittee on the Etiology of Attention Deficit
Disorders, and he serves as the facilitator between
the Etiology and Diagnostic Committees. One of
the purposes of EDDA is to define best practices
in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of
attention. He has given numerous presentations
on these and related topics.
